At AltaGas, leadership in governance begins with our Board of Directors. It is the responsibility of the Board to ensure that that the interests of the shareholders and other stakeholders are properly represented.
The Board exercises overall responsibility for the management and supervision of AltaGas. This includes the appointment of the President and Chief Executive Officer, and senior officers of AltaGas Ltd. and AltaGas General Partner Inc., and approval of their compensation and monitoring of the Chief Executive Officer’s performance.
AltaGas' Board of Directors is composed of eight directors, seven of whom are independent. Mr. David Cornhill, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of AltaGas General Partner Inc., is the only member of the Board of Directors who is also a member of management.
